Foxlease Singing Circle Constitution

AIMS

To promote and encourage music in Guiding and the associated movements and bring together those with a common interest in both music and the heritage of Foxlease.

MEMBERSHIP

You must be female, aged 18 years and over, and supportive of the ethos and ideals of the Guide and Girl Scout movements (WAGGGS).
Membership is payable in February for a period of either 1 year or 5 years. Founder/Life members are exempt from membership fees.

COMMITTEE

The Committee shall consist of Chair, Secretary/Membership Secretary, Treasurer and four other members, one of whom should liaise with the Foxlease Staff. The Committee shall have the power to co-opt additional members as required.

TERMS OF OFFICE

Members shall be elected for an initial period of three years and thereafter annually for a further two years.

MEETINGS

The Committee shall meet twice a year to coincide with the Residential weekends, or at further times as deemed necessary by the Chair.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Committee shall be responsible for

• The planning of future events
• Hostessing weekend and other events
• Using funds for the benefit of members
• Care of property of the Circle including instruments

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

This shall be held annually each Autumn.
